Descargar datos históricos en Metratrader
Un paso muy importante antes de empezar a realizar el backtesting con nuestro robot de trading que hemos creado en el anterior artículo, es descargar datos históricos en Metatrader.
¿No es suficiente con los datos históricos que nos ofrece nuestro broker? ¡NO!. Como mucho un broker nos ofrecerá 3 meses de velas a 15 minutos, lo único que nos sirve es para comprobar que el robot ejecuta las órdenes tal como lo hemos programado, nada más. En la siguiente entrega aprenderás a realizar un backtesting completo sobre un robot de trading.

¿Cómo me descargo los precios históricos?
Sin más preámbulos, este vídeo no necesita mucha descripción técnica para entender de dónde coger las cotizaciones históricas de un activo y cómo lo importamos en Metatrader.
Dukascopy es una fuente de datos muy fiable, además de que es gratis, para poder realizar cualquier backtesting. Te permite descargar los datos con la flexibilidad de las siguientes características:
- Cualquier timeframe. Ya sean ticks o medida temporal, desde velas de 1 minuto hasta velas mensuales.
- Precios BID o ASK.
- Escoger el rango de fechas. Tiene un máximo de 3 años, pero puedes realizar varias descargas para tener datos de más de 3 años.
- Excluir datos de fin de semana o cuando no haya cotización.
- Otras opciones como seleccionar la franja horaria o la medida para el volumen.
Es extremadamente importante tener una buena base de datos de cotizaciones históricas y asegurarnos de que son fiables y, por lo menos, casi exactos a la realidad.
Preparado para la acción
No te creas que ya lo sabes todo aún sobre trading algorítmico, de hecho, acabamos de empezar. El trabajo duro de análisis, corrección y optimización viene ahora y empieza todo por el primer backtesting que realizaremos en la siguiente entrega, sobre el robot que creamos anteriormente. Es mucho mejor empezar por un robot sencillo, probarlo, realizar backtesting y optimizarlo.
